Surah Al-InshiqaqMakiha25In the Name of Allah, the All-beneficent, the All-merciful.When the sky is split open 1and gives ear to its Lord as it should. 2When the earth is spread out 3and throws out what is in it, emptying itself, 4and gives ear to its Lord as it should. 5O man! You are labouring toward your Lord laboriously, and you will encounter Him. 6Then, as for him who is given his record [of deeds] in his right hand, 7he will receive an easy reckoning, 8and he will return to his folks joyfully. 9But as for him who is given his record from behind his back, 10he will pray for annihilation 11and enter the Blaze. 12Indeed he used to be joyful among his folk, 13and he thought that he would never return. 14Yes, his Lord had been watching him. 15I swear by the evening glow, 16by the night and what it is fraught with, 17by the moon when it blooms full: 18you will surely fare from stage to stage. 19What is the matter with them that they will not believe, 20and will not prostrate when the Quran is recited to them? 21Indeed, the faithless impugn [the Apostle], 22and Allah knows best what they keep to themselves. 23So inform them of a painful punishment, 24excepting such as are faithful and do righteous deeds: for them there will be an everlasting reward. 25
