سُورَةُ الْجِنِّالمكية28بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحٖیمِقُلْ اُوحِیَ اِلَیَّ اَنَّهُ اسْتَمَعَ نَفَرٌ مِنَ الْجِنِّ فَقاٰلُوٓا اِنّاٰ سَمِعْناٰ قُرْءاٰنًا عَجَبًا۝١۝یَهْدٖیٓ اِلَی الرُّشْدِ فَـأٰمَنّاٰ بِهٖۖ وَلَنْ نُشْرِكَ بِرَبِّنآٰ اَحَدًا۝٢۝وَاَنَّهُۥ تَعاٰلٰی جَدُّ رَبِّناٰ مَا اتَّخَذَ صاٰحِبَةً وَلاٰ وَلَدًا۝٣۝وَاَنَّهُۥ كاٰنَ یَقُولُ سَفٖیهُناٰ عَلَی اللّٰهِ شَطَطًا۝٤۝وَاَنّاٰ ظَنَنّآٰ اَنْ لَنْ تَقُولَ الْاِنْسُ وَالْجِنُّ عَلَی اللّٰهِ كَذِبًا۝٥۝وَاَنَّهُۥ كاٰنَ رِجاٰلٌ مِنَ الْاِنْسِ یَعُوذُونَ بِرِجاٰلٍ مِنَ الْجِنِّ فَزاٰدُوهُمْ رَهَقًا۝٦۝وَاَنَّهُمْ ظَنُّوا كَماٰ ظَنَنْتُمْ اَنْ لَنْ یَبْعَثَ اللّٰهُ اَحَدًا۝٧۝وَاَنّاٰ لَمَسْنَا السَّمآٰءَ فَوَجَدْناٰهاٰ مُلِئَتْ حَرَسًا شَدٖیدًا وَشُهُبًا۝٨۝وَاَنّاٰ كُنّاٰ نَقْعُدُ مِنْهاٰ مَقاٰعِدَ لِلسَّمْعِۖ فَمَنْ یَسْتَمِعِ الْءاٰنَ یَجِدْ لَهُۥ شِهاٰبًا رَصَدًا۝٩۝وَاَنّاٰ لاٰ نَدْرٖیٓ اَشَرٌّ اُرٖیدَ بِمَنْ فِی الْاَرْضِ اَمْ اَراٰدَ بِهِمْ رَبُّهُمْ رَشَدًا۝١٠۝وَاَنّاٰ مِنَّا الصّاٰلِحُونَ وَمِنّاٰ دُونَ ذٰلِكَۖ كُنّاٰ طَرآٰئِقَ قِدَدًا۝١١۝وَاَنّاٰ ظَنَنّآٰ اَنْ لَنْ نُعْجِزَ اللّٰهَ فِی الْاَرْضِ وَلَنْ نُعْجِزَهُۥ هَرَبًا۝١٢۝وَاَنّاٰ لَمّاٰ سَمِعْنَا الْهُدٰٓی ءاٰمَنّاٰ بِهٖۖ فَمَنْ یُؤْمِنْ بِرَبِّهٖ فَلاٰ یَخاٰفُ بَخْسًا وَلاٰ رَهَقًا۝١٣۝وَاَنّاٰ مِنَّا الْمُسْلِمُونَ وَمِنَّا الْقاٰسِطُونَۖ فَمَنْ اَسْلَمَ فَاُولٰٓئِكَ تَحَرَّوْا رَشَدًا۝١٤۝وَاَمَّا الْقاٰسِطُونَ فَكاٰنُوا لِجَهَنَّمَ حَطَبًا۝١٥۝وَاَنْ‌لَوِ اسْتَقاٰمُوا عَلَی الطَّرٖیقَةِ لَاَسْقَیْناٰهُمْ مآٰءً غَدَقًا۝١٦۝لِنَفْتِنَهُمْ فٖیهِۚ وَمَنْ یُعْرِضْ عَنْ ذِكْرِ رَبِّهٖ یَسْلُكْهُ عَذاٰبًا صَعَدًا۝١٧۝وَاَنَّ الْمَساٰجِدَ لِلّٰهِ فَلاٰ تَدْعُوا مَعَ اللّٰهِ اَحَدًا۝١٨۝وَاَنَّهُۥ لَمّاٰ قاٰمَ عَبْدُ اللّٰهِ یَدْعُوهُ كاٰدُوا یَكُونُونَ عَلَیْهِ لِبَدًا۝١٩۝قُلْ اِنَّمآٰ اَدْعُوا رَبّٖی وَلآٰ اُشْرِكُ بِهٖٓ اَحَدًا۝٢٠۝قُلْ اِنّٖی لآٰ اَمْلِكُ لَكُمْ ضَرًّا وَلاٰ رَشَدًا۝٢١۝قُلْ اِنّٖی لَنْ یُجٖیرَنٖی مِنَ اللّٰهِ اَحَدٌ وَلَنْ اَجِدَ مِنْ دُونِهٖ مُلْتَحَدًا۝٢٢۝اِلّاٰ بَلاٰغًا مِنَ اللّٰهِ وَرِساٰلاٰتِهٖۚ وَمَنْ یَعْصِ اللّٰهَ وَرَسُولَهُۥ فَاِنَّ لَهُۥ ناٰرَ جَهَنَّمَ خاٰلِدٖینَ فٖیهآٰ اَبَدًا۝٢٣۝حَتّٰٓی اِذاٰ رَاَوْا ماٰ یُوعَدُونَ فَسَیَعْلَمُونَ مَنْ اَضْعَفُ ناٰصِرًا وَاَقَلُّ عَدَدًا۝٢٤۝قُلْ اِنْ اَدْرٖیٓ اَقَرٖیبٌ ماٰ تُوعَدُونَ اَمْ یَجْعَلُ لَهُۥ رَبّٖیٓ اَمَدًا۝٢٥۝عاٰلِمُ الْغَیْبِ فَلاٰ یُظْهِرُ عَلٰی غَیْبِهٖٓ اَحَدًا۝٢٦۝اِلّاٰ مَنِ ارْتَضٰی مِنْ رَسُولٍ فَاِنَّهُۥ یَسْلُكُ مِنْ بَیْنِ یَدَیْهِ وَمِنْ خَلْفِهٖ رَصَدًا۝٢٧۝لِیَعْلَمَ اَنْ قَدْ اَبْلَغُوا رِساٰلاٰتِ رَبِّهِمْ وَاَحاٰطَ بِماٰ لَدَیْهِمْ وَاَحْصٰی كُلَّ شَیْءٍ عَدَدًا۝٢٨۝سُورَةُ الْمُزَّمِّلِالمكية20بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحٖیمِیآٰ اَیُّهَا الْمُزَّمِّلُ۝١۝قُمِ الَّیْلَ اِلّاٰ قَلٖیلًا۝٢۝نِصْفَهُۥٓ اَوِ انْقُصْ مِنْهُ قَلٖیلًا۝٣۝اَوْ زِدْ عَلَیْهِ وَرَتِّلِ الْقُرْءاٰنَ تَرْتٖیلًا۝٤۝اِنّاٰ سَنُلْقٖی عَلَیْكَ قَوْلًا ثَقٖیلًا۝٥۝اِنَّ ناٰشِئَةَ الَّیْلِ هِیَ اَشَدُّ وَطْـئًا وَاَقْوَمُ قٖیلًا۝٦۝اِنَّ لَكَ فِی النَّهاٰرِ سَبْحًا طَوٖیلًا۝٧۝وَاذْكُرِ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ وَتَبَتَّلْ اِلَیْهِ تَبْتٖیلًا۝٨۝رَبُّ الْمَشْرِقِ وَالْمَغْرِبِ لآٰ اِلٰهَ اِلّاٰ هُوَ فَاتَّخِذْهُ وَكٖیلًا۝٩۝وَاصْبِرْ عَلٰی ماٰ یَقُولُونَ وَاهْجُرْهُمْ هَجْرًا جَمٖیلًا۝١٠۝وَذَرْنٖی وَالْمُكَذِّبٖینَ اُولِی النَّعْمَةِ وَمَهِّلْهُمْ قَلٖیلًا۝١١۝اِنَّ لَدَیْنآٰ اَنْكاٰلًا وَجَحٖیمًا۝١٢۝وَطَعاٰمًا ذاٰ غُصَّةٍ وَعَذاٰبًا اَلٖیمًا۝١٣۝یَوْمَ تَرْجُفُ الْاَرْضُ وَالْجِباٰلُ وَكاٰنَتِ الْجِباٰلُ كَثٖیبًا مَهٖیلًا۝١٤۝اِنّآٰ اَرْسَلْنآٰ اِلَیْكُمْ رَسُولًا شاٰهِدًا عَلَیْكُمْ كَمآٰ اَرْسَلْنآٰ اِلٰی فِرْعَوْنَ رَسُولًا۝١٥۝فَعَصٰی فِرْعَوْنُ الرَّسُولَ فَاَخَذْناٰهُ اَخْذًا وَبٖیلًا۝١٦۝فَكَیْفَ تَتَّقُونَ اِنْ كَفَرْتُمْ یَوْمًا یَجْعَلُ الْوِلْداٰنَ شٖیبًا۝١٧۝ٱَلسَّمآٰءُ مُنْفَطِرٌ بِهٖۚ كاٰنَ وَعْدُهُۥ مَفْعُولًا۝١٨۝اِنَّ هٰذِهٖ تَذْكِرَةٌۖ فَمَنْ شآٰءَ اتَّخَذَ اِلٰی رَبِّهٖ سَبٖیلًا۝١٩۝اِنَّ رَبَّكَ یَعْلَمُ اَنَّكَ تَقُومُ اَدْنٰی مِنْ ثُلُثَیِ الَّیْلِ وَنِصْفَهُۥ وَثُلُثَهُۥ وَطآٰئِفَةٌ مِنَ الَّذٖینَ مَعَكَۚ وَاللّٰهُ یُقَدِّرُ الَّیْلَ وَالنَّهاٰرَۚ عَلِمَ اَنْ لَنْ تُحْصُوهُ فَتاٰبَ عَلَیْكُمْۖ فَاقْرَءُوا ماٰ تَیَسَّرَ مِنَ الْقُرْءاٰنِۚ عَلِمَ اَنْ سَیَكُونُ مِنْكُمْ مَرْضٰی وَءاٰخَرُونَ یَضْرِبُونَ فِی الْاَرْضِ یَبْتَغُونَ مِنْ فَضْلِ اللّٰهِ وَءاٰخَرُونَ یُقاٰتِلُونَ فٖی سَبٖیلِ اللّٰهِۖ فَاقْرَءُوا ماٰ تَیَسَّرَ مِنْهُۚ وَاَقٖیمُوا الصَّلٰوةَ وَءاٰتُوا الزَّكٰوةَ وَاَقْرِضُوا اللّٰهَ قَرْضًا حَسَنًاۚ وَماٰ تُقَدِّمُوا لِاَنْفُسِكُمْ مِنْ خَیْرٍ تَجِدُوهُ عِنْدَ اللّٰهِ هُوَ خَیْرًا وَاَعْظَمَ اَجْرًاۚ وَاسْتَغْفِرُوا اللّٰهَۖ اِنَّ اللّٰهَ غَفُورٌ رَحٖیمٌ۝٢٠۝سُورَةُ الْمُدَّثِّرِالمكية56بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحٖیمِیآٰ اَیُّهَا الْمُدَّثِّرُ۝١۝قُمْ فَاَنْذِرْ۝٢۝وَرَبَّكَ فَكَبِّرْ۝٣۝وَثِیاٰبَكَ فَطَهِّرْ۝٤۝وَالرُّجْزَ فَاهْجُرْ۝٥۝وَلاٰ تَمْنُنْ تَسْتَكْثِرُ۝٦۝وَلِرَبِّكَ فَاصْبِرْ۝٧۝فَاِذاٰ نُقِرَ فِی النّاٰقُورِ۝٨۝فَذٰلِكَ یَوْمَئِذٍ یَوْمٌ عَسٖیرٌ۝٩۝عَلَی الْكاٰفِرٖینَ غَیْرُ یَسٖیرٍ۝١٠۝ذَرْنٖی وَمَنْ خَلَقْتُ وَحٖیدًا۝١١۝وَجَعَلْتُ لَهُۥ ماٰلًا مَمْدُودًا۝١٢۝وَبَنٖینَ شُهُودًا۝١٣۝وَمَهَّدْتُ لَهُۥ تَمْهٖیدًا۝١٤۝ثُمَّ یَطْمَعُ اَنْ اَزٖیدَ۝١٥۝كَلّآٰۖ اِنَّهُۥ كاٰنَ لِءاٰیاٰتِناٰ عَنٖیدًا۝١٦۝سَاُرْهِقُهُۥ صَعُودًا۝١٧۝اِنَّهُۥ فَكَّرَ وَقَدَّرَ۝١٨۝فَقُتِلَ كَیْفَ قَدَّرَ۝١٩۝ثُمَّ قُتِلَ كَیْفَ قَدَّرَ۝٢٠۝ثُمَّ نَظَرَ۝٢١۝ثُمَّ عَبَسَ وَبَسَرَ۝٢٢۝ثُمَّ اَدْبَرَ وَاسْتَكْبَرَ۝٢٣۝فَقاٰلَ اِنْ هٰذآٰ اِلّاٰ سِحْرٌ یُؤْثَرُ۝٢٤۝اِنْ هٰذآٰ اِلّاٰ قَوْلُ الْبَشَرِ۝٢٥۝سَاُصْلٖیهِ سَقَرَ۝٢٦۝وَمآٰ اَدْرٰىكَ ماٰ سَقَرُ۝٢٧۝لاٰ تُبْقٖی وَلاٰ تَذَرُ۝٢٨۝لَوّاٰحَةٌ لِلْبَشَرِ۝٢٩۝عَلَیْهاٰ تِسْعَةَ عَشَرَ۝٣٠۝وَماٰ جَعَلْنآٰ اَصْحاٰبَ النّاٰرِ اِلّاٰ مَلآٰئِكَةًۖ وَماٰ جَعَلْناٰ عِدَّتَهُمْ اِلّاٰ فِتْنَةً لِلَّذٖینَ كَفَرُوا لِیَسْتَیْقِنَ الَّذٖینَ اُوتُوا الْكِتاٰبَ وَیَزْداٰدَ الَّذٖینَ ءاٰمَنُوٓا اٖیماٰنًا وَلاٰ یَرْتاٰبَ الَّذٖینَ اُوتُوا الْكِتاٰبَ وَالْمُؤْمِنُونَ وَلِیَقُولَ الَّذٖینَ فٖی قُلُوبِهِمْ مَرَضٌ وَالْكاٰفِرُونَ ماٰذآٰ اَراٰدَ اللّٰهُ بِهٰذاٰ مَثَلًاۚ كَذٰلِكَ یُضِلُّ اللّٰهُ مَنْ یَشآٰءُ وَیَهْدٖی مَنْ یَشآٰءُۚ وَماٰ یَعْلَمُ جُنُودَ رَبِّكَ اِلّاٰ هُوَۚ وَماٰ هِیَ اِلّاٰ ذِكْرٰی لِلْبَشَرِ۝٣١۝كَلّاٰ وَالْقَمَرِ۝٣٢۝وَالَّیْلِ اِذْ اَدْبَرَ۝٣٣۝وَالصُّبْحِ اِذآٰ اَسْفَرَ۝٣٤۝اِنَّهاٰ لَاِحْدَی الْكُبَرِ۝٣٥۝نَذٖیرًا لِلْبَشَرِ۝٣٦۝لِمَنْ شآٰءَ مِنْكُمْ اَنْ یَتَقَدَّمَ اَوْ یَتَاَخَّرَ۝٣٧۝كُلُّ نَفْسٍ بِماٰ كَسَبَتْ رَهٖینَةٌ۝٣٨۝اِلّآٰ اَصْحاٰبَ الْیَمٖینِ۝٣٩۝فٖی جَنّاٰتٍ یَتَسآٰءَلُونَ۝٤٠۝عَنِ الْمُجْرِمٖینَ۝٤١۝ماٰ سَلَكَكُمْ فٖی سَقَرَ۝٤٢۝قاٰلُوا لَمْ نَكُ مِنَ الْمُصَلّٖینَ۝٤٣۝وَلَمْ نَكُ نُطْعِمُ الْمِسْكٖینَ۝٤٤۝وَكُنّاٰ نَخُوضُ مَعَ الْخآٰئِضٖینَ۝٤٥۝وَكُنّاٰ نُكَذِّبُ بِیَوْمِ الدّٖینِ۝٤٦۝حَتّٰٓی اَتٰىنَا الْیَقٖینُ۝٤٧۝فَماٰ تَنْفَعُهُمْ شَفاٰعَةُ الشّاٰفِعٖینَ۝٤٨۝فَماٰ لَهُمْ عَنِ التَّذْكِرَةِ مُعْرِضٖینَ۝٤٩۝كَاَنَّهُمْ حُمُرٌ مُسْتَنْفِرَةٌ۝٥٠۝فَرَّتْ مِنْ قَسْوَرَةٍ۝٥١۝بَلْ یُرٖیدُ كُلُّ امْرِیٍٔ مِنْهُمْ اَنْ یُؤْتٰی صُحُفًا مُنَشَّرَةً۝٥٢۝كَلّاٰۖ بَلْ لاٰ یَخاٰفُونَ الْءاٰخِرَةَ۝٥٣۝كَلّآٰ اِنَّهُۥ تَذْكِرَةٌ۝٥٤۝فَمَنْ شآٰءَ ذَكَرَهُۥ۝٥٥۝وَماٰ یَذْكُرُونَ اِلّآٰ اَنْ یَشآٰءَ اللّٰهُۚ هُوَ اَهْلُ التَّقْوٰی وَاَهْلُ الْمَغْفِرَةِ۝٥٦۝

Surah Al-JinnMakiha28In the Name of Allah, the All-beneficent, the All-merciful. Say, ‘It has been revealed to me that a team of the jinn listened [to the Quran] and they said, “Indeed we heard a wonderful Quran, ﴾1﴿which guides to rectitude. Hence, we have believed in it and we will never ascribe any partner to our Lord. ﴾2﴿Exalted be the majesty of our Lord; He has taken neither any spouse nor son. ﴾3﴿The foolish ones among us used to speak atrocious lies concerning Allah. ﴾4﴿We thought that humans and jinn would never utter any falsehood concerning Allah. ﴾5﴿Indeed some persons from the humans would seek the protection of some persons from the jinn, thus only adding to their rebellion. ﴾6﴿They thought, just as you think, that Allah will not raise anyone from the dead. ﴾7﴿Indeed we made for the heaven and found it full of mighty sentries and flames. ﴾8﴿We used to sit in its positions to eavesdrop, but anyone listening now finds a flame waiting for him. ﴾9﴿We do not know whether ill is intended for those who are on the earth, or whether their Lord intends good for them. ﴾10﴿Among us some are righteous and some are otherwise: we are various sects. ﴾11﴿We know that we cannot frustrate Allah on the earth, nor can we frustrate Him by fleeing. ﴾12﴿When we heard the [message of] guidance, we believed in it. Whoever that has faith in his Lord will fear neither privation nor oppression. ﴾13﴿Among us some are Muslims and some of us are perverse.” ’ Those who submit [to Allah]—it is they who pursue rectitude. ﴾14﴿As for the perverse, they will be firewood for hell. ﴾15﴿If they are steadfast on the path [of Allah], We shall provide them with abundant water, ﴾16﴿so that We may test them therein, and whoever turns away from the remembrance of his Lord, He will let him into an escalating punishment. ﴾17﴿The places of worship belong to Allah, so do not invoke anyone along with Allah. ﴾18﴿When the servant of Allah rose to pray to Him, they almost crowded around him. ﴾19﴿Say, ‘I pray only to my Lord, and I do not ascribe any partner to Him.’ ﴾20﴿Say, ‘I have no power to bring you any harm or good [of my own accord].’ ﴾21﴿Say, ‘Neither can anyone shelter me from Allah, nor can I find any refuge besides Him. ﴾22﴿[I have no duty] except to transmit from Allah, and [to communicate] His messages; and whoever disobeys Allah and His apostle, there will indeed be for him the fire of hell, to remain in it forever.’ ﴾23﴿When they see what they are promised, they will know who is weaker in supporters and fewer in numbers. ﴾24﴿Say, ‘I do not know if what you are promised is near, or if my Lord has set a [long] term for it.’ ﴾25﴿Knower of the Unseen, He does not disclose His [knowledge of the] Unseen to anyone, ﴾26﴿except to an apostle He approves of. Then He dispatches a sentinel before and behind him ﴾27﴿so that He may ascertain that they have communicated the messages of their Lord, and He encompasses all that is with them, and He keeps an count of all things. ﴾28﴿Surah Al-MuzzammilMakiha20In the Name of Allah, the All-beneficent, the All-merciful.O you wrapped up in your mantle! ﴾1﴿Stand vigil through the night, except for a little [of it], ﴾2﴿a half, or reduce a little from that ﴾3﴿or add to it, and recite the Quran in a measured tone. ﴾4﴿Indeed soon We shall cast on you a weighty discourse. ﴾5﴿Indeed the watch of the night is firmer in tread and more upright in respect to speech, ﴾6﴿for indeed during the day you have drawn-out engagements. ﴾7﴿So celebrate the Name of your Lord and dedicate yourself to Him with total dedication. ﴾8﴿Lord of the east and the west, there is no god except Him; so take Him for your trustee, ﴾9﴿and be patient over what they say, and distance yourself from them in a graceful manner. ﴾10﴿Leave Me [to deal] with the deniers, the opulent, and give them a little respite. ﴾11﴿Indeed with Us are heavy fetters and a fierce fire, ﴾12﴿and a food that chokes [those who eat it], and a painful punishment [prepared for] ﴾13﴿the day when the earth and the mountains will quake, and the mountains will be like dunes of shifting sand. ﴾14﴿Indeed We have sent to you an apostle, to be a witness to you, just as We sent an apostle to Pharaoh. ﴾15﴿But Pharaoh disobeyed the apostle; so We seized him with a terrible seizing. ﴾16﴿So, if you disbelieve, how will you avoid the day, which will make children white-headed, ﴾17﴿and wherein the sky will be rent apart? His promise is bound to be fulfilled. ﴾18﴿This is indeed a reminder. So let anyone who wishes take the way toward his Lord. ﴾19﴿Indeed your Lord knows that you stand vigil for nearly two thirds of the night—or [at times] a half or a third of it—along with a group of those who are with you. Allah measures the night and the day. He knows that you cannot calculate it [exactly], and so He was lenient toward you. So recite as much of the Quran as is feasible. He knows that some of you will be sick, while others will travel in the land seeking Allah’s bounty, and yet others will fight in the way of Allah. So recite as much of it as is feasible, and maintain the prayer and pay the zakat and lend Allah a good loan. Whatever good you send ahead for your souls you will find it with Allah [in a form] that is better and greater with respect to reward. And plead to Allah for forgiveness; indeed Allah is all-forgiving, all-merciful. ﴾20﴿Surah Al-MuddathirMakiha56In the Name of Allah, the All-beneficent, the All-merciful.O you wrapped up in your mantle! ﴾1﴿Rise up and warn! ﴾2﴿Magnify your Lord, ﴾3﴿and purify your clothes, ﴾4﴿and keep away from all impurity! ﴾5﴿Do not grant a favour seeking a greater gain, ﴾6﴿and be patient for the sake of your Lord. ﴾7﴿When the Trumpet will be sounded, ﴾8﴿that will be a day of hardship, ﴾9﴿not at all easy for the faithless. ﴾10﴿Leave Me [to deal] with him whom I created alone, ﴾11﴿and furnished him with extensive means, ﴾12﴿[gave him] sons to be at his side, ﴾13﴿and facilitated [all matters] for him. ﴾14﴿Still he is eager that I should give him more. ﴾15﴿No indeed! He is an obstinate opponent of Our signs. ﴾16﴿Soon I will overwhelm him with hardship. ﴾17﴿Indeed he reflected and decided. ﴾18﴿Perish he, how he decided! ﴾19﴿Again, perish he, how he decided! ﴾20﴿Then he looked; ﴾21﴿then frowned and scowled. ﴾22﴿Then he walked away disdainfully, ﴾23﴿saying, ‘It is nothing but traditional sorcery. ﴾24﴿It is nothing but the speech of a human.’ ﴾25﴿Soon I will cast him into Saqar. ﴾26﴿And what will show you what is Saqar? ﴾27﴿It neither spares, nor leaves [anything]. ﴾28﴿It burns the skin. ﴾29﴿There are nineteen [keepers] over it. ﴾30﴿We have assigned only angels as keepers of the Fire, and We have made their number merely a stumbling block for the faithless, and so that those who were given the Book may be reassured, and the faithful may increase in [their] faith, and so that those who were given the Book and the faithful may not be in doubt, and so that the faithless and those in whose hearts is a sickness may say, ‘What did Allah mean by this description?’ Thus does Allah lead astray whomever He wishes and guides whomever He wishes. No one knows the hosts of your Lord except Him, and it is just an admonition for all humans. ﴾31﴿No indeed! By the Moon! ﴾32﴿By the night when it recedes! ﴾33﴿By the dawn when it brightens! ﴾34﴿Indeed they are one of the greatest [signs of God] ﴾35﴿—a warner to all humans, ﴾36﴿[alike] for those of you who like to advance ahead and those who would remain behind. ﴾37﴿Every soul is hostage to what it has earned, ﴾38﴿except the People of the Right Hand. ﴾39﴿[They will be] in gardens, questioning ﴾40﴿the guilty: ﴾41﴿‘What drew you into Hell?’ ﴾42﴿They will answer, ‘We were not among those who prayed. ﴾43﴿Nor did we feed the poor. ﴾44﴿We used to indulge in [profane] gossip along with the gossipers, ﴾45﴿and we used to deny the Day of Retribution ﴾46﴿until death came to us.’ ﴾47﴿So the intercession of the intercessors will not avail them. ﴾48﴿What is the matter with them that they evade the Reminder ﴾49﴿as if they were terrified asses ﴾50﴿fleeing from a lion? ﴾51﴿But everyone of them desires to be given unrolled scriptures [from Allah]! ﴾52﴿No! Indeed, they do not fear the Hereafter. ﴾53﴿No! It is indeed a reminder. ﴾54﴿So let anyone who wishes be mindful of it. ﴾55﴿And they will not be mindful unless Allah wishes. He is worthy of [your] being wary [of Him] and He is worthy to forgive. ﴾56﴿
